Cana to Ilaniya

The Cana Church from our Hostel

Today was a short day - about 12km up out of Cana into the countryside, past a forest park and into a village called Ilaniya. Our host at Cana told us it was an Arab village that was destroyed in 1948 and then rebuilt as an Israeli village.

As we left Cana it began to bucket down! We paused to take shelter next to a wall and a local man and his daughter motioned us to join them on his porch. They even served us Arab coffee! The coffee is like Turkish but with some herb added to it. When the rain eased we set off again. The coffee helped!

The walk was very pleasant - mostly on rural tracks. It was however very muddy!

Some holy land stuck to my shoes!
